Blazers 2020-2021 Player Registration Process with new AAHA Guidelines.

May 9, 2020

Dear Parents and Players,

Hope this communication finds you well.  As you all know, we have strived to keep everyone up to speed as best we can and will continue to do so as this situation unfolds. On May 2nd, 2020, the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) announced that due to the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, player agreements may be given to selected players this season without holding tryouts.  The date for Tier II agreement signing is Thursday, June 11, 2020. All Tier II clubs, including the Blazers, cannot have signed Player Agreements before this date.  To aid in the process, we encourage all families interested in playing with the Blazers this winter sign up via player registration link to be eligible for player agreements and reserve your place at future evaluation/try-out.  As the Blazers have already said we are committed to making this process as fair and reasonable as possible.

What does that mean.

  • You can register for the Blazers Youth Hockey Club NOW! A few weeks ago, we opened our registration process and waived the initial fee, understanding the need of our families as well as others to feel secure in these unsettling times.

  • We urge all returning and prospective players to register as soon as possible. This online registration procedure will allow you a spot in the evaluations/ID Skate. The registration fee is $75 and will be collected at the eventual evaluation later in the summer.  We have received many registrations already, but if you have not already registered we ask that at your earliest convenience please go to our website at www.Blazersyouthicehockey.com. Once there you will find registration instructions.

  • We will be holding evaluations at all levels once we are permitted by local and state authorities. We will communicate these dates and times as soon as they are provided to us.

  • The Blazers leadership is cognizant of the economic hardship that many in the hockey community are suffering. With that said the Blazers are re evaluating our pricing structure. This will include longer payment terms as well as potential price reductions on dues for all levels. An announcement to this effect will be posted as things become clearer.

Happy to say the coaching staffs for each of our teams will be returning, Including past National appearance coaches both Jon Barger and Ken Doak. We are truly lucky to have our wonderful coaches on staff and look forward to the dedication and enthusiasm to the program.
